Unlike Australia, tipping is customary in the Philippines and generally expected in many situations, including dining out, taxi rides, hotel services, and room service.
As a general guide:
- Small services such as short taxi rides, room service, or baggage assistance typically attract a tip of around 50 pesos.
- For longer trips or exceptional service, a tip of around 100 pesos is common.
For group activities and group dining, we will manage the group tipping on your behalf.
We recommend carrying small denominations of cash. If needed, we can assist with arranging local currency on day one.
Visa ATM cards are accepted in Bacolod, however bank transaction fees can be high. Our usual approach is to exchange a small amount of pesos prior to departure, approximately 5,000 to 10,000 pesos, and then withdraw additional funds from local ATMs if required. ATMs are available at Ayala Shopping Centre, which is within walking distance of the hotel.
